A significant drop in sales is forcing national furniture retailer Value City Furniture to close 33 locations in the coming weeks. VCF’s parent company, American Signature Inc., confirmed the decision last week as part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.

The move comes as the company experienced a dip of an estimated $150 million in sales from 2024 to 2025. American Signature saw its net operating loss increase by $52 million over the year as well.

For now, the company’s website and other locations will remain open. The company will continue to fill online orders and ran a Black Friday sale over the weekend. The company has already begun store liquidation sales at the 33 locations that will close once the sales are complete.
