Baby died after being under-fed by nurses and left on 'cold, wet bed sheets'

A baby tragically died after it was left lying on cold, wet blankets, an inquest has heard.

Lakshith Guptha Nalla was described as 'vulnerable' after he was born at 30 weeks and four days of gestation.

The tiny infant was just four weeks old when he died at an understaffed neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) after being left malnourished and dehydrated by overworked nurses.

He died at the University Hospital of Wales in the early hours of May 11, 2024. Pontypridd Coroners' Court heard that a series of failures by nursing staff had happened in the days leading up to this.
