PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Animal shelters across the Valley are offering free or discounted adoptions to help pets find homes before the holidays — and that’s Something Good.
Arizona Animal Welfare League will waive adoption fees for all pets at its 40th Street and Washington location during the Bissell Pet Foundation’s Holiday Hope Event , running Monday through Dec. 15.
The state’s oldest and largest no-kill shelter says the event comes as shelters statewide face overcrowding, and waiving fees helps large dogs and long-term residents find homes.
Maricopa County Animal Care and Control is also joining the effort, offering reduced-fee adoptions at all three of its locations in Phoenix, Mesa and Scottsdale from Monday to Dec. 7.
