Ontario’s One Fare Program — which allows transit users to pay once when transferring between a host of GTA transit agencies as well as GO Transit — is being extended for two more years, the province says.

In a news release issued Monday, provincial officials said that since the program’s launch in 2024, One Fare has enabled nearly 62 million free transfers across participating agencies, like the TTC, Brampton Transit, Durham Region Transit, MiWay and several others.

“We’re extending the elimination of double fares through One Fare to make transit more affordable and convenient, saving commuters up to $1,600 each year,” said Transportation Minister Prabmeet Sarkaria in a statement.

Riders are able to access the program using a physical or digital Presto card, as well as debit and credit
