The long-delayed Eglinton Crosstown LRT is on its final day of testing Monday, Metrolinx’s CEO has confirmed — but there is still no firm opening date for when passengers will finally start riding on the beleaguered transit line.
Speaking at an unrelated transit news conference Monday, Metrolinx CEO Michael Lindsay said the revenue service demonstration, or RSD, is finishing after it began on the 19-kilometre east-west line in early October.
“I can understand the frustration of absolutely everybody associated with this project,” Lindsay said, while calling the end of testing “good news.”
However, when pressed by reporters, Lindsay still would not confirm an opening date.
