The Allen County Coroner's Office today identified the male who was fatally stabbed at a local entertainment venue early Friday and declared the death a homicide.
Jermichael Lamarkeyes James, 28, died of stab and incised wounds to his torso after an incident at Piere's Entertainment Center, 5629 St. Joe Road, a news release said.
His death marks the 33rd homicide the county has had this year. In most cases, the homicides have been the result of gunfire.
The coroner said the next of kin for James has been notified.
The stabbing incident occurred about 1:40 a.m. and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Three Rivers Ambulance Authority Paramedics.
