The brother of detained Scot Jagtar Singh Johal has blasted a meeting with the new Foreign Secretary as “one of the most disappointing yet”. ‌

Gurpreet Singh Johal met with Yvette Cooper on Monday to press the UK Government on what it will do to bring his brother home after eight years of arbitrary detention in India. ‌

The meeting comes just days after Jagtar was moved to one of India’s most dangerous prisons sparking fears for his safety. - Tihar Jail is a facility so notorious for violence that British courts ruled earlier this year that people may not be extradited there. ‌
