LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Gas prices are down in Michigan to start the month of December.
The average price for a gallon of gas is down 15 cents from last week, according to AAA. Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $2.96 for a gallon of regular unleaded. AAA says that’s 5 cents less than at the start of November and 14 cents less than this time last year.
Near Lansing and East Lansing, AAA says drivers are paying an average of $2.95, while in Jackson, the average price is slightly higher at $3.02. The state’s most expensive gas prices this week are in Ann Arbor, according to AAA.
The least expensive averages to start the new month are in Traverse City ($2.63), Marquette ($2.77), Benton Harbor ($2.88).
