EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State men’s basketball coach Tom Izzo will hold his first weekly press conference of the season on Monday to preview the Spartans’ Big Ten opener vs. Iowa on Tuesday night at the Breslin Center.

Michigan State is off to a hot start, owning a 7-0 record for the first time since 2015 and ranked No. 11 in the AP Top 25. The Spartans are coming off a 74-58 win over No. 16 North Carolina.

Iowa is also off to a 7-0 start under first-year coach Ben McCollum, who replaced the Hawkeyes’ former head coach Fran McCaffery after 15 seasons. Guard Bennett Stirtz came with McCollum from Drake and is leading Iowa in scoring with 18.6 points per game.
