COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Two people in Richland County face charges after allegedly causing burns to a one-year-old.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said Monday that 32-year-old Darius Deyrer Jackson and Younga Pewu-Jackson were arrested on Nov. 26, each charged with one count of unlawful conduct toward a child.
The sheriff’s department said it was made aware of the child being treated at an out-of-state burn center on Nov. 19 as a result of an incident two days prior. Authorities also said an investigation found that the burns “were sustained as a result of unlawful conduct.”
Warrants were then obtained, leading to the Nov. 26 arrests.
Daius Jackson and Younga Pewu-Jackson were later booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and have since been released on bond.
