The Denver Broncos have won nine consecutive games, but many of these victories haven't been coming easily.
In Sunday's 27-26 overtime win over the Washington Commanders, the Broncos (10-2) needed a batted pass from defensive end Nik Bonitto on a two-point conversion attempt to avoid an upset. Denver head coach Sean Payton insists it didn't escape with a win against a 3-9 team.
"We didn’t escape. We won," Payton said in a postgame news conference . "The journey of a good team’s season involves games like this. And then you believe you can do it again."
However, the Broncos have had several games like the one they had on Sunday night in Washington. Denver has eight one-possession wins this season. Is the team's ability to escape with nail-biting victories sustainable?
NIK BONITTO.
