Duluth's Great Lakes Aquarium is mourning the loss of its resident bald eagle.
Bogey was humanely euthanized at the age of 26 after his condition quickly deteriorated and treatment proved unsuccessful, Great Lakes Aquarium announced on Monday.

Bogey had been at Great Lakes Aquarium since 2001. He was transferred there from the Bird Treatment and Learning Center in Alaska, where he was deemed non-releasable due to nerve damage that he suffered from falling out of his nest as a chick. The nest was located on a golf course, hence the name Bogey.
