COUSHATTA, La. (KALB) - A 59-year-old man and a 4-year-old girl died in a house fire on Thanksgiving morning in Coushatta, according to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

The Red River Parish Fire District responded to the fire on November 27 around 2 a.m. in the 2400 block of Hwy 71. When they arrived, firefighters found the mobile home fully engulfed in flames. A 21-year-old was able to escape the fire, but the man and child did not survive.

The fire is still under investigation. It is not yet known if there was a working smoke alarm in the house.
