FORT WORTH, Texas — You might not know it if you drove by Watt Arena in Fort Worth this week. But that's where plenty of money is being exchanged -- a hundred grand or more at a time.
In fact, on Sunday, one horse alone fetched $550,000 at the National Cutting Horse Association Futurity Sales, according to Western Bloodstock, which is conducting the sale.
The week-long event runs through Saturday at the Will Rogers Equestrian Center. Sunday was a record-breaking opening session for the two-year-old sales, averaging $75,582 per sale, a three percent increase from 2024's record.
Faded Love, an offspring of the famed Metallic Cat, drew the top sale at $550,000. The sorrel filly, bred by Lucinda Rose David and consigned by Shane and Ashley Carlon, was purchased by Grant Setnicka, of Grandvi
