Residents have been urged to 'act now' over a flood warning in place in Greater Manchester. The Environment Agency had previously issued the flood warning for a village near Rochdale with heavy rain forecast overnight and throughout Monday.
Flooding was expected in Walsden, near Todmorden from 6am on Monday, (December 1). Flood warnings, a step up from flood alerts , mean flooding is expected and people should 'act now.'
The areas affected will be Walsden from Bottomley Lock, to Clough Mill, including Rochdale Road, Walsden Station and Walsden School. The area is still being monitored by the Environment Agency, including rainfall levels and rising river levels.
Local residents in the area are being urged to 'start acting' on flood plans with an incident room also opened
