The Eglinton Crosstown LRT underwent its final day of testing Monday and is expected to be handed over to the TTC soon — but there’s still no confirmed date for when the long-awaited light-rail line will open.
“We will be back with partners at the TTC to talk about the first date of passenger service very soon, and I’m very pleased that we are at the end of this rigorous testing,” said Metrolinx CEO Michael Lindsay on Monday at an unrelated press conference.
Lindsay added that the Crosstown has now been tested in “all kinds of weather,” and that the Crosstown would undergo the same process as the Finch West LRT as it heads toward opening.
