I’LL never forget the first time I ever interviewed a politician and the feeling of frustration I was left with afterwards.

It was the General Election 2015, I was training to be a journalist and I was interviewing some of the candidates in Trafford – a borough on the outskirts of Manchester.

I remember walking away from a conversation with one of the candidates from a small party looking down at my notepad to discover he hadn’t really answered my questions at all.

At least I learnt early that this comes with the territory, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t hack journalists off from time to time.

And it would seem that more than a few have reached the end of their tether with the current UK Government .
