Jay Stansfield is targeting being part of a Birmingham City team that walks out at their new Powerhouse stadium when it eventually opens.
The 23-year-old, who is Blues ’ leading scorer with eight Championship goals so far this term, is set to face Watford at St Andrew’s @Knighthead Park this evening.
The game comes just ten days after Tom Wagner unveiled the design for the club’s new super-stadium which will be the centrepiece of the £3billlion Sports Quarter project.
Nicknamed The Powerhouse, featuring 12 striking chimneys and with a capacity of 62,000 it is hoped the new ground will be ready in time for the 2030/31 season.
Everyone at Blues is aiming for the club to be in the Premier League by then – and Stansfield , who would still only be 28, says he too hopes
