Save for two members the Taconic String Quartet remains the same, yet it continues to be a musically compelling ensemble. Its Thanksgiving Concert, Saturday at the Manchester Community Library, was sheer pleasure from beginning to end.

The main work was Felix Mendelsohn’s (1809-1947) brilliant and gloriously Romantic String Quartet No. 1 in E-flat Major, Op. 12. Deborah Buck, longtime first violinist of the Lark Quartet, led the performance with a warm finely honed sound and expert technique, matched all the way by violinist Joana Genova, violist Ariel Rudiakov and cellist John Dunlop.
