Vermont education taxes to rise 12% on average if nothing is done by government

State officials are projecting yet another double-digit increase to education property taxes should nothing change between now and when numbers are finalized.

On average, Vermonters could see their taxes up by about 12% in the coming year, said Tax Commissioner Bill Shouldice on Monday.
