Proceeds from a pickleball event in Louisville on Saturday will benefit the Davis Phinney Foundation — an organization created in 2004 by Olympic medalist and retired professional cyclist Davis Phinney to provide programs and resources for people with Parkinson’s disease.
Registration is already sold out for the “Pickleball for Parkinson’s” event, which will run from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. at Relish Food Hall & Pickleball on McCaslin Boulevard in Louisville, though there is a waitlist that can be joined on the event’s registration webpage.
As of Monday, the webpage showed $14,245 raised so far, just over 50% of the foundation’s $25,000 fundraising goal for the event. While fundraising is not required to participate, registration for the event comes with lunch and a fundraising page.
