It took three tries, but the city has money to put murals in the transit center.

Shortly after taking office in 2023, Alderwoman Kiana McClure convinced the Board of Aldermen to pursue a grant to add some artwork to the troubled downtown facility. The city's first application was rejected. So was the second. Earlier this year, though, the city got word it had received a $5,000 "animating infrastructure" grant from the Vermont Arts Council.
