A consultant for Nancy Mace’s gubernatorial campaign announced his resignation from her team due to her alleged affiliation with Kentucky Republicans Sen. Rand Paul and Rep. Thomas Massie.

Consultant J. Austin McCubbin joined U.S. Rep. Mace's, R-District 1, gubernatorial campaign in August. McCubbin notably served as the South Carolina state director for Team Trump, President Donald Trump's reelection campaign, in 2023 and managed Mace's first reelection campaign in 2022.
