HAMPTON, Va. — Drivers along Interstate 64 in Hampton should expect a new round of overnight lane and ramp closures this week, as the Virginia Department of Transportation resumes work on the Hampton Roads Express Lanes Project (HREL) following the Thanksgiving travel pause.
VDOT reinstated work zones and lane closures at noon on Monday.
From 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday, several ramps near the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel will be fully closed, according to transportation officials. Nightly westbound closures include the off-ramp from I-64 to Armistead Avenue/LaSalle Avenue. Eastbound drivers will also see nightly closures at the Rip Rap Road/Armistead Avenue/Langley Air Force Base exit, as well as the Settlers Landing Road/Woodland Road off-ramp.
Multiple on-ramps will close
