The head coach opted to leave for LSU, agreeing to fill the vacancy left by Brian Kelly’s firing at what appears to be the worst time, given that the Rebels are set for their first-ever College Football Playoff appearance.
Kiffin announced his decision via social media on Sunday.
“While I am looking forward to a new start with a unique opportunity at LSU, I will forever cherish the incredible six years I spent at Ole Miss and will be rooting hard for the team to complete their mission and bring a championship to Oxford,” he noted in a tweet.
