The Sonic the Hedgehog big screen franchise isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Via The Hollywood Reporter we’ve learned that, in approximately two years, a fourth Sonic movie will speed into theaters on December 22, 2027. This is a delay from its March 19, 2027 original release date. This should come as no surprise, as the last film in the franchise, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 , made nearly $500 million worldwide on a $122 million budget. In the post-pandemic era, the cinematic adventures of the iconic Sega video game character have become one of Paramount Pictures’ most reliable moneymakers. We fully expect Ben Schwartz to return as the voice of our titular hero.
