CARTERVILLE, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Jackson County Emergency Management Agency provided an update on the CodeRED alert system following a cybersecurity incident that impacted the mass notification system last week.
The agency shared a statement by Crisis24 Customer Support that on December 1, they successfully integrated data into the CodeRED by Crisis24 platform. This data, sourced from backup information of the legacy OnSolve CodeRED system, includes community notification enrollment, E911 data, and customer utility data.
This backup reflects data available as of March 31, 2025.
On November 23, county officials shared information which said the attack was attributed to an organized cybercriminal group which targeted the OnSolve CodeRED environment specifically.
