CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - The Salvation Army of Southern Illinois will host two friendly fundraising competitions.
According to the group, they’ll kick off the Christmas season with fundraising challenges to bring communities together.
“We are grateful to have the support of local banks and community leaders that believe in our mission to do the most good without discrimination,” Darla Harms, associate director, said in a news release. “The money raised will help continue our legacy of helping local residents with food, rent and utility assistance, disaster relief and other important services.”
The first competition, “Battle of the Banks,” will feature Legence Bank, First Southern Bank and Bank of Herrin in a head-to-head kettle competition December 1-23.
Each bank will host a Red K
