LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. (KCTV) - An alleged car thief shot at a police drone before officers arrested him overnight.
The Lee’s Summit Police Department says that on Sunday night, Nov. 30, officers responded to reports of a car prowler in the area of Applewood and NE Dreamweaver Dr.
Responding officers said they quickly set up a perimeter and launched a surveillance drone to locate the suspect.
Investigators indicated that the drone spotted the suspect checking car door handles in a nearby driveway. When the suspect noticed, he fired two shots at the drone before he ran through neighboring yards.
