A teenage girl has died following a minibus crash in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire, which also left another girl injured. The incident occurred on Monday, 1 December 2025, at approximately 12.28pm on Toulston Lane, near the junction with Rudgate. The minibus, carrying nine passengers aged between 16 and 18, collided with a Hyundai car. Emergency services arrived promptly, but the girl was pronounced dead at the scene. Another teenage girl was taken to hospital with serious injuries, although they are not believed to be life-threatening. The remaining passengers and the driver of the minibus received treatment for minor injuries. The driver of the Hyundai, a 40-year-old woman, has been arrested as part of the ongoing investigation. North Yorkshire Police have closed Toulston Lane to traffic while they conduct their enquiries. They are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward. A police spokesperson stated, "North Yorkshire Police is investigating the tragic death of a teenage girl who was a passenger in a minibus that was in a collision with a car at Tadcaster." The spokesperson detailed that the minibus was travelling towards Sherburn when the Hyundai entered Toulston Lane from Rudgate.
