A high school in North York was put on lockdown after police received reports of a person with a gun on the premises on Monday afternoon.

Toronto police responded to reports of a person seen with a firearm at James Cardinal McGuigan Catholic High School, near the intersection of Finch Avenue West and Keele Street , at about 3:20 p.m., police said in a post on X.

After searching the school, police found no evidence of a firearm or gunfire, police wrote in an update .

No injuries have been reported, and the lockdown has been lifted.
