Overnight trips are back on at an Ajax elementary school , a reversal welcomed by parents and students who were upset when administrators abruptly cancelled them at the start of the school year.

“We are pleased to share that overnight trips will once again move ahead at Southwood Park Public School,” reads a letter sent Friday to families from administrators, the school council and a coalition of more than 100 parents formed in response to the controversy.

“We worked diligently to find solutions that prioritize student safety, enrich learning experiences, and strengthen our school community.”
