The Arizona Western College women’s basketball team (4-5) ended a three-game losing streak with a dominant defensive showcase and balanced offensive attack on Friday night, defeating Trinidad State College 73-48 in a non-conference matchup at “The House.” The Lady Matadors raced out to a 17-0 start, forced 33 turnovers and never trailed as they secured their fourth win of the season.

Mable Doumbia set the tone on both ends, finishing with a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds, along with a game-high eight steals and two blocks. Doumbia was everywhere defensively and helped ignite the Lady Matadors’ fast start, while pacing the offense with efficient 7-of-12 shooting.
