DES MOINES, Iowa —

Now that the calendar says December, meteorological fall has ended, and another exceptionally warm season goes into the books.

Fall 2025 was the sixth warmest on record in central Iowa — right behind last fall.

In Des Moines, temperatures were above normal all three months of the season.

September brought a four-day stretch of temperatures in the 90s, including a 96-degree daily record on Sept. 13.

Temperatures in the 80s persisted into early October, then November came with another daily record high of 74 degrees on Nov. 14.
