A Harvard senior today sued Greyhound and an as yet unidentified bus driver for the way she says he attacked her when she tried to board a bus to Springfield at South Station shortly before 3 p.m. on Oct. 31.
In her civil-rights suit, filed in US District Court, Omenma Abengowe said the driver immediately had it out for her because of her race and that when she tried to get on the bus anyway, he shoved her down the bus's stairs:
Abengowe, a chemistry major from New Jersey who also works as a Harvard EMT, is vice president of the university UNICEF club and is enlisted in the Air Force, says she arrived at 2:55 for the 3 p.m. bus but that when she approached the driver, holding the bus's door open, and said she was there for the bus to Springfield, he simply walked away. Then, she alleges:
