Walt Disney Co.’s Zootopia 2 achieved the highest global opening for any animated picture in the company’s history with a haul of $559.5 million in ticket sales worldwide.
The film, about a rabbit cop and her crime-fighting partner, brought in over $400 million internationally over the weekend. It also collected $158.8 million at the US and Canadian box office over the extended Thanksgiving holiday, becoming the No. 1 domestic film, according to figures published released Monday by Comscore Inc.
