Britain is bracing for a 21-hour snow onslaught - with new weather maps pinpointing when and where the first flakes are set to fall.
Wintry showers are set to begin in Scotland on December 15, before gradually moving southwards and hitting Northern Ireland, Wales and parts of northern England. By 9am, the heaviest snowfall will be seen in southern Scotland's Galloway Forest Park, along with the Lake District and the Pennines. A lighter sprinkling is also anticipated in Northern Ireland around this time.
