ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office has announced that one man has died after a pursuit on U.S.-1 Tuesday afternoon.
According to an update from the sheriff's office Tuesday night, the SJSO Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a disturbance at a business off International Golf Parkway around 3:40 p.m. Dispatchers heard possible gunshots during the call.
The sheriff's office says that as deputies were responding to call, they encountered a fleeing suspect driving south on US-1.
A pursuit was initiated, and the suspect's vehicle was stopped using a PIT maneuver, causing the suspect to crash on the shoulder.
