JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is recovering after being shot in his chest and leg at his girlfriend's home on Jacksonville's Northside late Tuesday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

JSO Sgt. Johnson said officers responded to a home in the 200 block of Kirk Road around 11:30 p.m. in reference to the shooting.

Johnson said when officers arrived, they found the man, who is in his late-20s, injured. Members of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department then responded to the home and took the man to a local hospital in "serious, but stable condition," Johnson said.

"The initial investigation revealed the victim was at his girlfriend's residence when the suspect and another individual came to the residence," Johnson said.
