An Arizona woman accused of slicing the neck of her boyfriend allegedly told officers, “ I hope he’s dead ,” after they arrived to arrest her, according to court documents released Monday.
Tamala Rudeseal, 52, called it her “Independence Day” after slitting the unnamed man’s neck on Thanksgiving Day, local NBC affiliate KPNX reported. The victim was hospitalized but survived the attack.
Rudeseal slit the man’s throat around 8 p.m. while he was sleeping at their home in the east Phoenix suburb of Mesa, according to police. She then called 911 and confessed to the crime , telling dispatchers she had slashed the man’s throat.
