Zemira, a 6-year-old Hartford girl, died after a two-year battle with cancer on Nov. 29.

Zemira spent her short life fighting for everything she had. The Connecticut 6-year-old died of cancer last week, and her mother wants to give her a funeral fit for a warrior.

Zemira was born with a compromised immune system, her mother, Allieberry Pitter, said in a GoFundMe. Two years ago, she was diagnosed with cancer, and despite giving all she had, she succumbed to the disease on Nov. 29, 2024.

"For almost two years, my baby fought with a strength far beyond her age," Pitter wrote in the fundraising campaign. "I slept by her bedside, held her through every procedure, wiped her tears, and prayed over her every single day. No mother should ever have to watch their child endure that kind of pain."

Zemira endured years of pain and kept fighting to come back from the illnesses. Despite it all, Zemira was loving, kind, and funny — a little girl who would cheer up others who worried over her health.

"Even through everything, Zemira still smiled," Pitter wrote. "She still loved. She still fought. She was pure light, pure love, and pure courage."

Pitter is asking the community to help fund the little girl's funeral, which she wants to include horses, a dove release, a custom casket, and a large headstone to honor the child’s life and strength.

"These costs are overwhelming, especially after two years of nonstop hospital care, missed work, and the emotional and financial burden of being by her side every moment," Pitter wrote.

She hopes to raise $11,000, and has collected more than $4,500 as of Tuesday, Dec. 2.
