TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - A woman died, and a man was injured when they were hit by a vehicle near Interstate 19 and Esperanza Road in Green Valley on Monday, Dec. 1.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said 74-year-old Barbara Jones and the man were hit while in a crosswalk on East Esperanza Boulevard at the end of the southbound I-19 off-ramp.

Jones died at a local hospital, while the man suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.

The PCSD said the driver of the vehicle was cited for causing serious physical injuries by moving violation, but the driver was not impaired.

The Drexel Heights Fire District said it happened around 9:30 a.m.
