(WABI) - Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, has announced funding that will help Mainers heat their home this winter.

Collins says the Department of Health and Human Services has released nearly $40 million in Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program funding.

Just over $38 million is being allocated to the State of Maine with nearly $1.5 million being allocated to Indian Township and the Pleasant Point Passamaquoddy, Penobscot, Maliseet, and Mi’kmaq Tribes.
