A 19-year-old Ulster County man is facing a felony charge after police say he strangled a victim and then prevented them from escaping.

Saugerties police responded to Underwood Street around 2:45 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, for a dispute that turned violent, according to the agency.

Following an investigation, officers arrested 19-year-old Leon Kellerhouse, of Kerhonkson, on suspicion of felony strangulation, and unlawful imprisonment and third-degree assault, both misdemeanors.

Kellerhouse was processed at police headquarters and then transported to court in Kingston, where he is being held pending arraignment.

Authorities did not release information about the victim or the extent of any injuries. It was not immediately clear what led up to the alleged attack.
