CHELSEA, Mass. —
A 30-year-old man was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday after he was struck by a motor vehicle while crossing the street in Chelsea, Massachusetts.
The crash occurred in the area of 260 Second St. around 4:20 p.m.
According to Chelsea police, the man was running across the street when he was struck.
The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to Mass. General Hospital in Boston.
Police did not say if the victim was in a crosswalk at the time of the crash.
The driver of the car stayed at the scene, and it's unclear if they will face any charges.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Chelsea police detectives and the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
Second Street remains closed at this time.
