SEEKONK, Mass. —
A Seekonk, Massachusetts, police officer was injured Tuesday after a cruiser they were driving hydroplaned and flipped over several times in the parking lot of a nearby business.
The officer was traveling westbound on Highland Avenue in Seekonk when the car hydroplaned, causing the officer to lose control. The cruiser flipped over into an Advanced Auto Parts parking lot.
Employees nearby said they heard the crash and that it shook the entire building.
Seekonk firefighters used the jaws of life to remove the officer from the vehicle. The officer was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The officer is expected to recover from his injuries.
No other cars were involved in the crash. Seekonk police are investigating.
