CENTRAL, La. (WAFB) - The town of Central has launched a new online portal to help residents report maintenance issues and track their progress after struggling with backlogged work orders in the past.

Mayor Wade Evans said the town previously had problems with slow-moving maintenance projects due to a number of reasons.

“We’ve had systems, but they were disjointed,” Evans said.

The new system, called GovWell, went live Monday and allows residents to easily file work orders online. The process involves entering information, taking a picture, explaining the problem, and waiting for a response.

“GovWell is a system that allows us to integrate everything under one umbrella and communicate better with our citizens,” Evans said.
