Michael Lazarine, 47, of Lindale, is charged with unlawful restraint. The case appeared in Smith County criminal records on Tuesday and showed it was filed by information, meaning a grand jury indictment is not necessary. The Smith County Commissioners Court presented Lazarine with a community hero award on Sept. 23 after he saved the life of a choking child at a Taco Bell in Lindale on Sept. 7.
