FAYETTEVILLE -- The University of Arkansas fan base appears to be warming to new football Coach Ryan Silverfield after his first two full days on the job.

Scoring key in-state recruits and strategically getting his message out via largely friendly media outlets can sway public perception, because the initial reaction to Silverfield's hiring, particularly on social media platforms, was largely negative.

While other new SEC coaches -- like Auburn's Alex Golesh, LSU's Lane Kiffin and Florida's Jon Sumrall -- held their introductory news conferences within a day or so, the first Silverfield mass media press availability, a joint event with Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek, is scheduled for Thursday.
