WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - The Wichita City Council approved a contract, hiring the city's next City Manager: Dennis Marstall.

Tuesday's approval finalizes a starting salary of $298,000 per year and a start date of December 31, 2025.

The following supplemental benefits/terms are also included in the terms of the contract:

Retirement contribution of 10% of the City Manager’s annual salary per year;

Auto allowance of $6,600 per year;

Professional association memberships and subscriptions as desired for professional development and for the good of the City;

Phone allowance of $600 per year; and

Complete moving and relocation expenses.

If Marstall's contract is terminated within two years, the city will pay him a full year's salary. After two years: a severance of six months' pay.
